Celebrating the Birth of Katie!!

Let me just tell you a few things about my good pal Katie.....

1. We met while working together at Pier 1 Imports in College Station and became friends instantly. It was fate. Our favorite shift began at 5:30 AM. She is also an Aggie :)

2. This girl is an all-star at just about everything she does...painting, sewing, cooking, being a new mommy, being my friend, etc.

3. Speaking of painting, she helped me paint my brother's condo one long day just because she wanted to. Amazing.

4. We share the love for Wings-N-More chicken strips. Yum.

5. Her talking voice is soothing and angelic, but she can do some awesome impressions...my favorite involving a lisp. And her laugh is contagious.

6. Her baby, Bryce, is DARLING. Spencer is supposed to give horseback rides at her 1st birthday party!

7. I would hire her instantly to be my kids' nanny or my dental office manager or my interior designer. Or all three. At the same time. She could so do it.
8. She took off for 6 months to just travel the world. I've only been out of the U.S. to go to Mexico.

9. Her cat is a killer cat. She attacked me the first time I ever came over to her apartment. I thought all animals liked me. :( The cat now lives with her parents since Bryce came along.

10. We once went on a home tour in College Station and fell in love with most of these gigantic houses. Since we both would like to live in College Station again in the future, we plan on buying one of them together since they are soooo expensive. Her and Travis on one side, Tanner and I on the other. It will be perfect.

Happy Birthday, Katie!

Hola from Harlingen!

Amigos! I have been shipped down to South Texas by school to fulfill an entire 2 week rotation. Luckily, I was blessed to be scheduled with my good buddy, Lex.

So really...it is almost like a mini vacation.
We are sharing a semi-nice apartment building quite close to the Harlingen clinic, known as Su Clinica Familiar. Our apartment has no TV :( but has wireless internet :)

Here is already a conversation between a patient and me on the very first day....

me: Hola, sir!
patient: You know espanol?
me: Not even poquito!
patient: You not Mexican girl?
me: No, sir.
patient: You look like Mexican girl. You should know espanol!
me: But, I'm not.....
patient: What are you?
me: I'm white. Blanco.
patient: No, you look like Mexican girl.

Frustating.
Just open your mouth, mister, and let this white girl get to work---now that's what I should have said.

My romantic husband...

Tanner and I were watching TV the other night. Tanner made a comment about how a girl's eyes on the show looked weird.

me: Well, are my eyes weird?
Tan: No, I love your eyes.
me: Oh really? (covering my eyes with my hand) What do you love about them?
Tan: (pause) They remind me of the ocean.
me: But, my eyes aren't blue.
Tan: Well, then, they remind me of pecan trees swaying in the wind.

Yes, ladies...be jealous. Be very jealous.

Best Bro Ever Turns 23!

Clinton Wallace: Even though you were SOOOOO annoying as a child, I have found that you have become one of my best buddies :) And even though you may complain a lot here are the reasons why you are cool...
1. Your jokes and impressions are awesome.
2. You're one smart cookie, and you barely have to study.
3. You cheer me up when I'm down.
4. You think I can solve every medical mystery. FYI: I can't.
5. You were the only person on my side when I wanted Spencer.
6. We both have those darn "spots". :)
7. You have shorts in every color of the rainbow. Literally.
8. You share my love for dumb movies and animated movies.
9. You can make everyone see your view. That is the lawyer in you.
10. Your accomplishments are out of this world. Go you.

Here are the things you could improve on....
1. Quit making fun of my cooking.
2. Get a cooler dog.
3. The way you say "Ssshhh"
4. Mumbling on the phone.
5. You complain a lot.

But let's not concentrate on those. hahaha Just know that I'm lucky to have you as my brother!
Happy Birthday!

Long Time, No Blog

So sorry to you all who have been logging on to read my newest entry (I'm sure I can count you diligent followers on one hand) to find no new entries. I'll tell you my excuse......SCHOOL. Need I say more? So I will try to sum up the last few weeks to fill you in.

Oh my gosh! Michael Jackson died! I am only paying tribute to the gloved one since Tanner was one big fan of his. And, he was once Elvis's son-in-law, of whom I am fan of. Even if Michael was a big weirdo who should have left his nose alone, he could sure dance.
Tanner's King of Pop

Candace's King of Rock and Roll

Which one is your favorite?

I celebrated fourth of July with my family in Cameron. It was wonderful to see everyone! Tanner had to stay behind to work :(

This is where Tan works!

The Quarry Golf Club....
a place where I have studied numerous times :)
And, he has a really awesome boss!
Thanks Bruce for reading my blog!

Mom sent some of Tanner's favorite cookies home with me after the holiday in a plastic bag. I don't know their name but they have peanut butter and cornflakes in them. Tanner had a few and left them on the kitchen counter. We found the bag ripped open with no cookies in it the next morning.

The culprit: Spencer Light.

We also have kept some of my classmates kids in the past week. I just love to babysit. Aren't these kids so adorable!? Thanks for letting them come over! We had a lot of fun!

Dylan and Easton

Wow. So I have completed the first week of school, and I am already exhausted! The only thing I keep telling myself is that this is the final year! YES! Look at me....that was the first week of first year. So bright eyed and bushy-tailed. I have NO CLUE what is about to happen to my life. I saw the newbie 1st years today, and I wanted to tell them to run as far away as possible.

My friend, Sarah, and I are in a totally different hallway then the rest of our classmates this year which makes us work "independently". Scary, thought, huh? Fun for us, though. Since Sarah and I are in the same group, we spend quite a lot of time together! :) She keeps me sane sometimes, as you can see in the following photos.

Goofing off in lab 1st year.

Sarah attacking me at a Halloween carnival.

2nd year crazy girls....

...And then jumping for joy when 2nd year is over!

I did spot this rainbow the first day of school. So therefore, this year has to be lucky!
