Fishing Trip Success!

Tanner and friends Jason Young, Hunter Gossett, and Jeremy Mueck (from left to right in the picture) all headed out Thursday for a fishing trip down off of South Padre Island. As you can tell by the pictures, they were quite successful throughout the weekend!

After returning home yesterday, I mentioned to Tanner that he should write about the trip and post pics on the blog......but I was given a wierd look. Therefore, I will share these photos with you even though I didn't attend!

Aunt Jana....You Rock.

Happy Birthday, Aunt Jana!

Everyone...meet my aunt...and my Godmother.
Yes, this sweet lady agreed to raise me if anything ever had happened to my parents. And, she made this commitment even before she was married to my uncle. My mom said she wasn't worried about the decision because she knew that Jana and Jay (my mom's brother and my Godfather) would get married in the future. Pretty special, huh?

Jana, I think this was a scheme to keep you in the Beckhusen family...and I'm glad it worked.

Thanks for always being there for us! Hope you have the best birthday ever! We love you!

Snip-Snip!

Spencer will lose his manhood tomorrow. Poor baby. I have mixed emotions about this surgery. First of all, Tanner decided this was the weekend to go fishing down South so I will be the one hauling this big drugged dog home from the vet and preventing him from running, jumping, playing, etc. I guess I will unload him from the car with our wheelbarrow.

At this point Tanner would say....you wanted him. Yes, Tanner.....I know he is my dog.

Second of all, won't he miss them? They are a very BIG part of him. Oh yeah, and the vet told me since they were so large, Spencer probably would have part of the "casing" remaining. So I requested a little puppy plastic surgery nip and tuck. She said she would have to see what she could do.
Oh well. In the end, I know this is the best decision for him. Please pray that all things go OK.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day, Pops!
I know that God chose you for me, but if He let me have a say so.....I'd still pick you! Thanks for all your encouragement and support! I LOVE YOU!

Oh, and Buoy thinks you're pretty cool as well.

Billy, thanks for raising your son to be the best husband ever!
(Even if you did brainwash him to cheer on the Longhorns....!)

Owen Michael is 4!

It must be the season for birthdays because I feel that is all I'm posting these days! My kitty, Owen, was a gift from my parents on my 22nd birthday! At the time, I knew I was already going to dental school so Dad thought I should name him something dental related. Since "Toothbrush" or "Flossy" did not quite fit his personality, I somehow came up with the name, Owen.

However, I learned in my 1st year histology class that the Contour Lines of Owen are found in the dentin layer of our teeth. So his name worked out after all! He is my little study buddy....even as a kitten while I was at A&M, he was always found in my pile of books and scantrons or on my desk as I crammed for my next test (shown above)! He still motivates me through those never-ending study hours........

One thing about this cat is that he loves trying to wake Tanner and I up at night for a little attention. In fact, this little movie clip is EXACTLY LIKE HIM. Check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w0ffwDYo00Q

Happy Birthday, Owen!

Happy Birthday, Emily!

On this day 25 years ago, my beautiful friend Emily was born! Miss Emily was a fellow Chi Omega with me at A&M. She is a blessing to be around.....although she has recently made the move to Washington D.C., and I don't see her often :( She truly is a unique free spirit filled with spontaneity that I wish I had.
Hope your birthday is wonderful, Emily! Texas and I miss you. xoxo

I miss you, Tanner.....

As you probably already know, I've been in Dallas this past week observing the pediatric dental program at Baylor - which I love by the way. And, this is the longest I have ever been away from my hubby. Tanner sent me an e-mail to tell me he missed me, my cooking, and my cleaning. (Well, all of that is not true...just the first part is.) He also told me jokingly he was upset he had not made it into one photo on the blog yet. So here is my good lookin' man.....
(He would have been on here sooner if some one would have happily put a party hat on his head. Oh well.....)
Tanner: I love you and miss you! And, I'm glad I married you :)

Spencer turns ONE!!!

Where has the time gone?! It seems such a short time ago, Tanner and I brought home this 13 pound bundle of joy.....(seen here)

.......which has now grown to be a 136 pound handsome pup. Remarkable how much my little man has grown!

To celebrate, I decided to bust out the party hats.

Check out these crazy party animals.........

Clint and Holly came in for the weekend...but refused the party hats. (Tanner wasn't thrilled about the idea either so that is why he is not featured in my pictures.)

So, Spencer.......

Even though you steal my pillow at times and
take up most of the couch when I try to sit down...

.....I still enjoy you and your sweet kisses! Happy 1st birthday! Love, Me
